The Role
To work as part of the restaurant team in the cooking, planning, production and preparation of food to approved recipe specifications and presentation standards. Ensure responsibilities are carried out in line with Palmers Company standards, policies and objectives.
Salary – competitive
Permanent – 32 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
Food Production
- Ensures all food production is to recipe and Company standards.
- Carries out checks on food produced tasting/testing and checking portion control.
- Ensures food production is carried out minimising wastage.
- Takes responsibility for the recording of food wastage.
- Enforces agreed high presentation standards at all time through all team members.
- Ensures all production of food is carried out safely and tidily.
- Ensures all food is stored correctly and safely according to the Company Food Safety Policy.
- Desirable if candidate has worked in a call line environment in the past.
Food Hygiene and Health & Safety
- Maintains all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards in the receipt, storage, labelling and food production areas in line with the Company’s Due Diligence system and as required by law.
- Complies with all aspects of the Food Safety Policy.
- Adheres to any changes in statutory or Company requirements.
- Escalates any non-compliance in Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations in the place of work.
- Adopts safe working and equipment handling practices.
Ordering, Receipt and Storage of Goods
- Ensures optimum stock levels are maintained.
- Ensures all goods delivered are checked to comply with the goods received procedure.
- Ensures all goods are stored following best practice procedures and in line with Company regulations.
- Ensures all storage areas are kept in good order using ‘First In First Out’ stock rotation.
- Complete stock takes as directed.
